18/09/2024, London – nFocus was out in full force this week at the Computing IT Leaders’ Summit at the Marriott Governor’s Square Hotel in Mayfair. Representing the company were Managing Director Ryan James, Amy Corcoran (Client Engagement Lead), and Eve Lister (Marketing Executive).
The Presentation The boardroom format afforded Ryan a brilliant opportunity to share the story of our SDET Academy with IT leaders. The nFocus SDET Academy uses a Hire, Train, Deploy model to support clients to accelerate their test automation. Ryan spoke to the success of the Academy with over 40 Graduates hired in a little over 2 years, kickstarting their careers in IT. This is testament to nFocus’ commitment to nurturing talent. With the first presentation over, there was time to share thoughts with attendees before heading back into the boardrooms for an afternoon marathon of presenting at three more sessions.
Feedback from the Boardroom Attendees Glowing and overwhelmingly positive! Here’s a taste: “What a great company and a great idea,” and “Really interesting business model with the academy and a super engaging presentation.” One attendee praised Ryan’s delivery and presentational skills, saying, “Excellent overview, established rapport with the audience, and great interaction.”
The IT Leaders’ Summit is a premier, invite-only event that aims to bring together the UK’s most senior and influential IT professionals. Designed for end-user companies, this free event explores innovative IT solutions, emerging trends, and insights on leadership.
Fun fact: Ryan was no stranger to some of the attendees, having crossed paths with Tom Allen, Editor of Computing, earlier this year. Tom had interviewed Ryan after nFocus took home the Services Company of the Year award at the UK IT Awards 2023.
Back at the summit, John Leonard, Research Director at Computing, delivered an interesting presentation titled The Year of IT and What It Tells Us. Unsurprisingly, AI was the hot topic, with John diving deep into both the potential and pitfalls of the technology.
Next up was Jeremy Cooper, Head of IT at Apollo Therapeutics. His talk was refreshingly down-to-earth as he shared his journey from a non-technical background to leading an IT department, touching on the importance of balancing work responsibilities with personal passions.
Meanwhile, Eve was on photography and video duty, snapping shots and recording throughout the day to document the day’s highlights. Amy was at the nFocus stand, engaging with attendees, answering questions, and offering insights about the company’s services and what they bring to the table.
In between all the action, Ryan managed to fit in an on-camera interview with Computing/The Channel Co during the day, where he shared his thoughts on the event and emphasised how well-organised the summit was.
All in all, it was a great day for nFocus! They are already excited about the prospect of returning next year.
