nFocus’ Managing Director Phil Edwards named finalist in the Testing Manager of the Year category at the European Software Testing Awards 2017!
London, 17/10/2017 – nFocus Testing, an industry leading multi-award winning testing services provider specialising in Strategic IT Resourcing, Agile & DevOps, Automation and Performance Testing, are today proud to announce their Managing Director, Phil Edwards, has been named a finalist in the ‘Testing Manager of the Year’ catergory in the European Software Testing Awards 2017.
Although he’s the MD, Phil still actively consults in the real world, keeping his skills and technology understanding up to date and he loves to work alongside our clients and his talented colleagues. To date he’s advised and worked at over 70 companies throughout the UK, 20 of which are FTSE 100 companies in many different business sectors including, Banking, Finance, Insurance, Technology, Retail, Logistics, Service Sector, Leisure, Construction and Gaming.
The ‘Testing Manager of the Year’ catergory is for the the most outstanding Test Manager over the last 12 months with the judges looking for:
- Excellent people management and communication skills
- Evidence of achieving project aims and targets through effective leadership
- Proof of commitment to the wider testing and QA community
- Examples of procedures put in place to ensure high quality results
- Evidence of a commitment to high quality and standards
- Demonstration of self-evaluation, commitment to self-learning and improvement
During 2016/17 Phil has held a number of roles, he’s helped a large software supplier who transforms organisations through digital technology and automation to centralise testing, to bring together a testing community to help their organisation and create a Test Factory approach to ensure efficiencies are provided along with a consistent and predictable delivery approach. The key outcome was that now all projects work in the same fashion, using the same principals to ensure the best possible predicted outcome and the test team have a sense of belonging, being in team whereby they have an opportunity to grow. Phil has also provided a mission critical testing health check and follow on consultancy for a Government body, managed nFocus’ in-house mobile testing lab during a high profile engagement for one of Europe’s largest sporting bodies as well as remaining at the forefront of each client nFocus delivers to.
Judges are appointed based on their extensive experience in the software testing and QA field. These seasoned professionals, all of whom currently hold senior management roles guarantee that each entry is judged fairly and accurately.
In the same month, nFocus have also been named finalist in the ‘Leading Vendor’ category at the European Software Testing Awards, giving the chance for the reigning winners to retain their title, as well as being selected by the TEST Magazine as one of their ’20 Leading Testing Providers’ for 2017.
The winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner in London on the 21st November 2017.
