14/03/24, Nottingham – Our Client Engagement Lead, Amy Corcoran, perfectly captures the essence of PeersCon and shares her heartfelt experience of the event – a transformative event that breathed new life into the industry, uniting individuals with a shared passion for testing and progress.
PeersCon gave the Testing Community what they had been missing. ‘’A breath of fresh air’’ where the community came together to light fires, empower and inspire. I met Simon in 2020 and have followed the Testing Peers journey from inception. I don’t think I even have the words to describe how much I enjoyed the first PeersCon and how honored I feel to have been a part of it.
I’m not a Tester and yet I felt I found my people at PeersCon. 153 people all as equally passionate about their craft and moving things forward, it was truly amazing to witness and to soak up the atmosphere.
Simon, Chris, David and Russell came together, recognised that something was missing and made it their mission to try and fill that gap, and oh boy did they succeed! nFocus wholeheartedly embraced their vision and wanted to get behind them to do our part to make the event a success. I hope we played our part well!
An organic, authentic and truly inspirational community event, I can’t wait to see what PeersCon25 brings!
Special recognition goes to the dedicated nFocus team members who supported the event: Gary Kingsmill (Talent Manager), Rachel Morris (Marketing Lead), George Calvey (Graduate SDET Consultant), Alira Salu (Test Consultant) and Jane Kelly (Test Consultant).
Gary Kingsmill, Talent Manager of nFocus, had glowing praise for the event, expressing his enthusiasm and satisfaction with the experience: “What a fantastic day! The venue was great, and the organisation was seamless with a line-up of very engaging speakers and workshops. It was lovely to see some old friends and put faces to the voices of some new ones. You would never have known it was a new event, and I can’t believe that they pulled all of it together in such a short time frame. Very well done to all involved, cracking effort all round, and I’m looking forward to next year!”
Rachel Morris, nFocus’ Marketing Lead, highlights the significance of events in line with company values: “At nFocus, we seek to align ourselves with events that resonate with our company values and PeersCon does just that. We’re proud to have sponsored an event that brought together hundreds of people sharing a common passion for testing and we can’t wait to take part in more events that will unite the testing community.”
Reflecting on the event, George, our Graduate SDET Consultant shared, “I had a wonderful time getting to meet so many people in the testing community. The workshops and talks were incredibly insightful and engaging. I have taken a lot from attending the event. It was also a great opportunity to promote the SDET Academy as we are incredibly proud of how it is growing and how well all the graduates are doing.”
Alira Salu, our Test Consultant, echoed these sentiments, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such an exceptional event. Her experience, brimming with knowledge and inspiration, speaks volumes about the enriching environment fostered by PeersCon: “This was my first time attending a testing community event and I had a great experience! All of the speakers had great knowledge of the industry and provided insights on the history of testing, the current state and the effects that AI technology will have on the future of testing. I really appreciate the opportunity given to me by nFocus to have been a part of this fantastic event!”
Jane Kelly, our Test Consultant, paints a vivid picture of the event: “A thoroughly worthwhile, well organised event for all things testing, human impacts, importance of mental and physical wellbeing, networking, history, and future of testing, IOT AI, plus techniques, tasks, workshops, freebies and delicious food! What’s not to like? Oh, and people who don’t glaze over when you say you are a Software Engineer and mention system integration testing…!”
Next year’s event promises to be even more enriching and impactful, and we can’t wait to be a part of it once again.
