We selected two grads from their January 2022 cadre and, frankly, it has been a wonderful experience. They and we have had great support from the nFocus leadership in the background, guiding and nurturing the SDETs in areas where we are not expert. They’re developing their skills studiously and as well as working effectively, they’ve also thrown themselves enthusiastically into our culture and team-life. I’d recommend the Academy option to any other software house and I fully expect that we’ll be back to nFocus again to bring another one or two SDET graduates through our doors.

We are now into the 2nd year with nFocus providing two SDET Academy graduates who joined one of our development teams to provide testing services. They have very quickly established themselves as key members of the team, and have been incremental in developing the teams manual and automated test capabilities, leading to a significant increase in the number of software releases we have been able to make this year, which is already greater than the total number of releases for 2022. nFocus is a fantastic company to work with; professional, flexible, supportive, collaborative and with an in-depth understanding of today’s testing challenges.

The depth of experience that the nFocus team were able to bring to this engagement was impressive. nFocus aligned with our business vision and there was clear recognition of the technical, commercial and regulatory constraints under which the Smart Metering rollout programme operates. I was particularly pleased that the observations made were coupled with insightful and practical recommendations that we could apply without impacting delivery deadlines.

In a three-month period, nFocus automated the regression testing of our complex business critical application. What was taking twenty working days to do manually can now be run overnight, every night, enabling our Agile approach. By running the full regression suite nightly, we’ll achieve the equivalent of over £900k of manual testing every year! What’s more, nFocus’ solution means our non-coding internal test team are easily able to execute, maintain and extend our automation suite.

nFocus are our testing partner of choice and have provided us valuable testing services for multiple years. They not only consistently deliver under tight deadlines but their knowledge and experience of our domain and product has been invaluable in ensuring the quality of our healthcare application. QA and testing specifically was the biggest impediment to RDT continuing to grow as a business and fulfilling our customer’s needs. We had lots of great engineering teams working well, but because we could not achieve and sustain a regular high quality release process, we were struggling to get our great code in the hands of our customers.
