London, 31/10/23 – Exciting news from nFocus Testing, the UK’s leading independent testing services provider. We are delighted to announce our selection as a finalist in the Leading Vendor category for European Software Testing Awards 2023. Additionally, we are thrilled to celebrate some rising stars in the industry with our two Testing Newcomer of the Year finalists Bhawana Satyal and Nethma Wimalasuriya, who both completed our SDET Academy.

For the eighth consecutive year, nFocus is honoured to be recognised as a Leading Vendor finalist. We eagerly anticipate competing for a third win this year after securing this title twice before in 2016 and 2019.

A year ago, we celebrated a significant achievement when nFocus received the Highly Commended recognition in the same Leading Vendor category. The competition was so fierce that they granted two awards in this category. We proudly accepted the Highly Commended award highlighting our dedication and expertise in the industry.

To date, nFocus are still the only company to win the Leading Vendor award on two separate occasions alongside the most recent Highly Commended recognition.

  • Proof of thought leadership and drive to excel in the Software Testing and QA industry.

Testing Newcomer of the Year Category

For the first time, we have entered the Testing Newcomer of the Year Awards. Showcasing our Graduate SDET Consultants for their commitment to advancing the testing industry.

This category celebrates emerging talents in the field of software testing and recognises individuals who have demonstrated remarkable potential, innovation, and made an impact in their relatively short time in the industry.

It is a platform to acknowledge and applaud the contributions of those who are shaping the future of software testing.

The judges looked for:

  • Evidence of outstanding commitment and development in their new Testing career.
  • Proof of a commitment to the greater Testing community and dedication to championing Testing practices.
  • Testament of outstanding communication skills, with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Examples of procedures/technologies put in place to ensure high quality results.
  • Evidence of self-improvement and commitment to high standards.

From nFocus, we would like to wish the finalists the very best of luck and we’re looking forward to celebrating on the night!

nFocus MD, Ryan James said: “I’m utterly thrilled to hear we’ve been named triple finalists at this year’s awards; giving us the chance to defend our crown of being the only company to win the Leading Vendor award on two separate occasions.

Whilst we’ve had a successful senior testing practice for many years, our Test Automation Academy is just two years old and so I’m incredibly proud to see that two of the team from our Academy were shortlisted as finalists in the Newcomer of the Year category! As of today, we have 32 Junior SDETs who have come through the Academy and we’re excited to have our sixth intake underway within the fortnight. Having finalists in this category is testament to the awesome work we’re doing and I’ll have my fingers crossed for Bhawana and Nethma at the awards evening!

I’m a big fan of the European Software Testing Awards because each category is judged by a panel of our peers. To go head-to-head against hundreds of organisations and to then be named finalists is something we’re truly honoured by.

I’d like to say an immense thank you to our team for their hard-work, innovation and dedication in supporting our clients achieve their goals. We’ve such a talented group of people here at nFocus and I’m delighted that the judges have recognised them all with this finalist announcement.

I’d like to congratulate all of the nominated organisations and look forward to celebrating the success of our industry at the upcoming awards night.”

About nFocus

As a testing company, we have partnered with clients to launch projects with confidence and reduced risk. We have achieved this through managed testing services, automation support, digital transformation support, and flexible team augmentation.

Having identified a challenge, we built an SDET Academy model that delivered what our clients needed. To try and understand the needs deeper, we undertook market research through an independent market research company.

We interviewed 160 IT Leaders. Although 75% of organisations were using an iterative approach, only 32% possessed the necessary technical testing skills for effective automation implementation.

Automation has been at the heart of everything we have done for the past 23 years. As such, we have developed a strong capability in hiring and training Test Automation Engineers. By combining these two areas, we felt well placed to implement an Academy to mitigate the challenge faced by our clients.
